MALAWI EYEBITER

Haplochromis Compressiceps occurs relatively close to the rocky shores of Lake Malawi in East Africa. This colorful fish is a mouthbrooder and easy to care for.

Large aquariums with open and rocky areas is recommended for this species. This fish will also appreciate good water flow and filtration. They can be kept with other similarly sized cichlids. These fish are very active and will constantly swim in, out and around the rocky formations created for them in the home aquarium. When breeding, the male creates a hallow depression in a=the sand, inviting the female to lay her eggs which she then will collect and hold until the young hatch in her mouth.
